Are those material goods and services provided by nature without alteration by human beings; and that they are valuable for human societies because they contribute directly to their welfare and development. Since the earth was inhabited, human beings and other life forms have depended on things that exist freely in nature to survive. These things include water (seas and fresh water), land, soils, rocks, forests (vegetation), animals, fossil fuels and minerals. They are called Natural Resources and are the basis of life on earth. They occur naturally, which means that humans can not make natural resources, but use them and modify them for their benefit.

All Natural Resources fall under two main categories:

- Renewable resources
 - Non-renewable Resources.

Renewable natural resources:
They are resources that are unlimited, this means that their duration is eternal. The amount can be maintained or increased over time. Of course it also depends on us humans to use it in a good way. Examples of renewable natural resources are plants, animals, water and soil.

Some renewable natural resources are:
- Biomass: forests, wood, remains of crop residues, etc. - Water (Water can be a renewable resource if it is used rationally, otherwise it is non-renewable) - Hydraulic power (can be hydroelectric).
 - Solar radiation - Wind - Waves - Geothermal energy - Plants and animals.

Non-renewable natural resources:
Non-renewable natural resources exist in certain quantities, they can not increase with the passage of time.

Examples of non-renewable natural resources are:

Metals: they are distributed around the world in an irregular way, for example there are countries that have a lot of silver and little tungsten, in others there is a lot of iron, but they do not have copper, it is common for metals to be transported over long distances, from where they extract up to the places that are used to manufacture products, to a greater or lesser extent all the countries must buy the metals, which are not in their territory, the biggest buyers are the developed countries because of the requirements of their industry.

Oil: it is an indispensable natural resource in the modern world. In the first place, oil is currently the most important energy on the planet. Gasoline and diesel are made from petroleum. These fuels are the energy sources of most industries and transports, and are also used to produce electricity in thermoelectric plants. On the other hand they are necessary as a raw material to elaborate products such as paints, plastics, medicines or paints. Natural gas: is a layer that is on the oil, and is applicable in industry and in homes, for cooking. Oil deposits are almost always associated with a certain amount of natural gas, which comes to the surface along with it when a well is drilled. However, there are wells that provide natural gas only.

Natural resources are essential for life.
God created it to give us a healthy, clean, happy and lasting life. We must take care of it, protect it, not damage it, because if we do it, unfortunately, it will disappear, as we do, because without that we can not live.
